Spend an afternoon visiting Kirkwood Winery and Isaiah Morgan Distillery just North of Summersville, where you’ll meet our neighbors Shirley and Brenda Morris. Sample from a hearty selection of wines and choose a bottle to enjoy later in the evening back at your cabin.

Looking for a great place for a romantic dinner, Café Acropolis, is that hidden gem of a restaurant that is well worth the search. Family owned and operated for 18 years, Pete and Betul Kudurogianis have literally opened up their home to everyone in their hilltop farmhouse, refurbished in Greek tradition. Ask Betul to seat you outside under the grape arbor where Pete’s mouthwatering specialty dishes, including broiled shish kabobs and fresh honey drizzled baklava will transport you across the Mediterranean or Cultured Catering and Steakhouse will prepare another evening of fine food for your dinner, back at your cabin, whichever you prefer.

We are in the heart of whitewater rafting country, with over a dozen quality river companies to choose from, the closet being only minutes from us. We can also give you heads up on the best rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback and ATV trail riding, both guided and on your own. From hunting antiques and exhibition coal mines to wild side cave tours and scuba charters, our rainy day itineries can rival the best of what some areas have to offer.
